Findlay Galleries is proud to present the exhibition Constantin Kluge: A Master Painter of Paris at Findlay Galleries, Palm Beach on Friday, June 3, 2022. This exhibition of works explores Kluge’s beautifully constructed paintings depicting his familiar scenes of Paris and its environs. He is considered a master painter of Paris alongside his post-impressionist predecessors such as Édouard Cortès and Eugène Galien-Laloue.

Kluge’s paintings are a love letter to his cherished city and its inhabitants. In Paris’ iconic streets, buildings, and public landmarks, Kluge found his ’paintings’ true protagonists. Formed from these elements, it is clear to see how Kluge uniquely understood and captured the city’s spirit. Every painting employs a harmonious balance, and each aspect tells its own story. The sky is given ample room to provide an uninterrupted display of summer clouds or winter hues. From a tree leaf to architectural detail in a beloved Parisian bridge, every reflection of light is given equal voice. Every composition is supported by a foundation of precise proportions, perspective, and form.

Findlay Galleries began representing the works of Constantin Kluge in 1961 and exhibited his works in Chicago, Palm Beach, New York, Paris, Beverly Hills, Tokyo, East Hampton, London, Monte Carlo and Barcelona. Today, Findlay Galleries represents the artist’s entire estate internationally.
