For the MOON ART exhibition with original works of art, the artists created works specifically on the theme of “Cassiopeia & The Big Bear”. The perspective on the topic is differentiated and reflects the wide range of artistic positions from Australia, Germany, Iran, Thailand and South Korea, among others.
“Cassiopeia & The Great Bear: these names are known to us because they are names of constellations,” said curator Dr. Barbara Aust-Wegemund. "But the constellations are more than poetic images in the starry night sky. They helped sailors on stormy seas to reach their destination in danger and desperation. Over the millennia, the stars in the sky gave humanity orientation, hope, confidence. How is that today? What motivates artists in these times between the belief in the future, power, passion and global crisis.
Moon Art Fair Hamburg is delighted to present artworks by Eilbhe Donovan (Ireland), Savina Seo (South Korea, living in Switzerland), and the photo artist Anna Paola Pizzocaro (Italy/ USA).
In addition to numerous experienced Hamburg talents (Filippo Mazzasette + JasBohoArt), we are looking forward to the next generation of artists, including Cun-Rou Zhou Huang (Taipei/Hamburg) and Agata Maas (Poland) from Leipzig, who is dedicated to symbolist painting.
The exhibition is complemented by a digital art show in the form of a video loop on large plasma screens. "The hybrid format is ideal for artists who do not travel but still appreciate the international exchange between art institutions and museums and the presentation of their works at a curated fair," says curator Dr. Barbara Aust-Wegemund.
These include the sculptors Jock Hildebrand (Canada), James Parrett (Australia), Nina Jun (USA), as well as young artists from Asia: Jaruwan Museangkha (artist name JAJA), Sirode Siramon, Jay Manon Sutham, Sittichai Tangkatitom, who represent the emerging art scene in Bangkok, and Seongyup Kim from Seoul.
Over three days, the Moon Art Fair Hamburg offers a comprehensive curated program, artist talks, guided tours, discussions as well as current art from five continents in the fields of painting, AR, design, photography, sculpture.
