THE EXTRAORDINARY WITHIN THE ORDINARY, Ahae’s second major solo exhibition of photographs in France, will be held from June 25 to September 9, 2013 at the Orangerie at the Palace of Versailles. Capturing views of pristine nature, Ahae’s exhibition of 220 photographs taken from the same window is part of the Année le Nôtre, celebrating the 400th anniversary of the birth of the master landscape architect of the Palace of Versailles, André Le Nôtre (1613-1700). Unfolding through the hours and the seasons, THE EXTRAORDINARY WITHIN THE ORDINARY includes works in which all the languages of nature are explored by the photographer's watchful eye. From dawn to dusk, morning and night, Ahae depicts the day cycle and everything he sees from his window: animals, movement, shadow and light. The exhibition, which aims to arouse our ability to be amazed by the simplest things, is divided into ten specially-created galleries, each representing a specific theme: birds, land and sky, pond, sunset and clouds, nightscapes, water deer, four seasons, and water reflections. The exhibition is open every day from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. Admission is free. In conjunction with the exhibition, Assouline is publishing AHAE Château de Versailles (standard edition, $245; luxury edition, $1800). IMAGE: © Ahae
