Shirien Damra
Illustrator Shirien Damra posted a memorial image dedicated to George Floyd on Instagram last week shortly after his killing by police in Minneapolis. Her "Justice for George" received over three million likes not long after she posted it, and was widely shared.
A daughter of Palestinian refugees and a Chicago native, according to CNN, Damra is a visual/UX designer whose illustrative work combines soft pastels colors to be "calming, yet hopeful." She has created other memorial and current issue illustrations

"I know the power of color and the emotion it can implicitly evoke," she said by email to CNN. "I hope that my colors and imagery help the viewers process difficult emotions and events and come out of it with some hope and inspiration."
