The Georgia O'Keeffe Museum in Santa Fe, NM, has announced a new museum studies fellowship that it hopes to expand into a larger think tank, reports the Albuquerque Business Journal.

Douglas Worts was appointed the first fellow in the new month-long program for museum professionals. He has an extensive background in museum literature, and has taught and lectured widely. Worts will pursue research in the museum visitor experience.

“We are hoping to create a type of think tank, guided by our Research Center and the Museum Studies Fellowship, to encourage deep thinking about what we do as museum professionals,” Museum Director Robert A. Kret said in a statement. “Our goal is to build on the work of each fellow to benefit the local museum community.”
