The Robert C. Eldred Co., Inc., New England’s oldest established auction house, announces the opening of a satellite office at 5 Roosevelt Avenue in Mystic, Connecticut, effective May 9. The office will be open Tuesdays and Wednesdays and by appointment for antiques and fine art appraisal and consignment services.
“For more than 60 years Eldred’s has remained true to its commitment of personalized, expert service to our worldwide clientele,” said Joshua Eldred, company president. “Southern New England has been underserved in the auction market, but at this new office we will be able fulfill the needs of anyone who has a whole estate to liquidate or even just a single item or two to sell.”
To celebrate the opening of the new office, Eldred’s will be offering zero percent commission on select items consigned for auction at the Mystic office throughout the month of May. Clients wishing to take advantage of this substantial discount are encouraged to set up an appointment by calling the office at 860-912-8169 or emailing email@example.com.
All are invited to attend the grand opening of the new office May 18 from noon to 5 p.m., with a ribbon cutting scheduled for 4:30 p.m. A selection of items from upcoming auctions will be on view and Eldred’s staff will be available for on-the-spot verbal appraisals of antiques and fine art.
Eldred’s Mystic office is just a few blocks from the village’s historic Main Street and from Mystic Seaport, the nation’s largest maritime museum. It is conveniently located less than two miles from Route 95 and across the street from the Amtrak train depot, making it easily accessible for anyone in the Boston-New York corridor.
“This is an ideal location to service our existing customers and the opportunity for growth within area and throughout the state made opening this office an easy decision,” Eldred said. “We’re looking forward to truly becoming part of the greater Mystic community. With its long maritime tradition, I think we’ll feel right at home.”
Eldred’s main office is located in a former sea captain’s house in East Dennis, Massachusetts, on Cape Cod’s historic Route 6A. The firm is one of the country’s preeminent auctioneers of maritime art and antiques in addition to conducting approximately 25 auctions per year encompassing a broad range of material including Americana, paintings and other fine art, Asian art, sporting art, Oriental rugs, European decorative arts and collectibles.
