In the face of a still-uncertain set of known and unknown challenges, with possible draconian risks and new opportunities to change what was thought traditionally as necessary and bring progress into our a future possibilities, AAMC Foundation, an organization focused on supporting visual arts curators in the nonprofit sector, has created “Envisioning a Future, Seizing the Now” on Thursday, May 21st gathering leading voices within the US visual art sector. The conversation will investigate core themes focusing on the big picture issues for our community, reflecting on our current situations and moving forward into the near and far future.

Moderated by Paula Gangopadhyay, Deputy Director of Museum Services, Institute of Museum and Library Services, panelists include Maureen Bray, Executive Director, Art Dealers Association of America; Lauren Shadford, Executive Director, Voices in Contemporary Art; Emil J. Kang, Program Director, Arts and Cultural Heritage, The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation; and Pauline Willis, Director, American Federation for the Arts. Together they will discuss the ways that the varying sectors they represent and support are addressing pain points, shifting their personal work, collaborating with others, and envisioning a future that creates a better arts community. Accessible freely to all, we invite you to join this online conversation by clicking here to register today!

This webinar is part of the AAMC Foundation’s professional development programming, which offers live online discussions that support our mission to advance the curatorial sector, as well as the larger nonprofit art community. Our upcoming online convenings address both the ongoing issues in the museum community as well as those arising from the current crisis.
