The Board of Directors of the International Fine Print Dealers Association has announced the appointment of Jenny Gibbs as the Executive Director of the International Fine Print Dealers Association, the Fine Art Print Fair and the IFPDA Foundation.  President of the IFPDA, David Tunick, says “As a former museum director, art school dean and auction house expert Jenny has worked alongside gallerists, curators and artists from old master to contemporary. This breadth of experience is what we need to advance the mission and objectives of the IFPDA.”

Of her appointment, Gibbs says “I am tremendously excited to join this esteemed group of art world professionals. Our members play a vital role in supporting artists working in the 21st century and in preserving the history of fine art print connoisseurship.”

Gibbs most recently held the position of Director of the MA in Art Business Program at Sotheby’s Institute of Art. Prior to Sotheby’s Gibbs served as Executive Director of Elmhurst Art Museum, leading the Chicago-area institution through a period of significant growth with major gifts and grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, developing the vision and planning for the restoration of Mies van der Rohe’s McCormick House (1952), the cornerstone of the museum’s permanent collection.  Museum attendance skyrocketed 400% with critically acclaimed exhibitions including ‘Playboy Architecture: 1953 to 1979,’ and ‘Kings & Queens: Pinball, Imagists and Chicago’, and ‘Hebru Brantley; Forced Field’.

Before joining Elmhurst Art Museum Gibbs headed the graduate programs at Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston. During her tenure MassArt’s MFA rose to become one of US News & World Reports top-ranked MFA programs. Gibbs has also worked with Bard College as the Executive Director of the Lacoste School of the Arts in France. Gibbs began her career at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and at Christie's as an old master painting specialist.

The International Fine Print Dealers Association is a nonprofit organization with 160 expert art dealers and publishers in 18 countries. The annual IFPDA Fine Art Print Fair is the largest international art fair focused exclusively on printmaking, and is noted for its historical depth, exhibiting works from the 16th through 21st centuries. The 2019 Fine Art Print Fair will be held in October at the Javits Center in New York. Proceeds from the Fine Art Print Fair benefit the IFPDA Foundation, which awards museum acquisition grants and curatorial internships.
