A gem of a Harvey Joiner painting is showcased on the Payne Fine Arts website this season. Joiner, a native of the Clark County community of Charlestown in Southern Indiana, was largely self-taught and came of age artistically during the high tide of American Tonalism. According to "Baird's History of Clark County, Indiana," Joiner was born in 1852 and exhibited an interest in and a talent for art from an early age. Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery is pleased to announce that its October 2011 art exhibition is now posted on their website and is ready to view online.  The theme for last month's art competition was "All Photography".  The gallery received submissions from 15 different countries from around the world and they also received entries from 26 different states. As  a more mature artist I've learned that good art does not come from a person who is overworked and spent.Or if it does, its not worth it. I know when I get to a point where I need to get out and have fun.. take a walk, see a concert, be with friends. Life is for living and when I feel full I paint so much better. I could have pushed myself to work last weekend.  I didn't think I could afford to take a trip. But one thing I know is that life is for living. I don't think I will say on my death bed, "I WISH I would have created 20 more paintings". An artist NEEDS to take time to drink in the beauty of life, take time to observe, to breath, taste, smell and feel. That's part of our work! Buying Art is not like buying Detergent; the key is to "buy intelligently".
