Off The Shoulder and On Line...

The truck packed for May Brimfield.  And to think, this was all in our apartment!

It's been a pretty interesting transition so far.  The days when I would pile frames on my shoulders and hoof it to the nearest subway station to travel to the Upper East Side art galleries are now only fond memories.  Or when I would bring home piles of frames, paintings, even a six foot tall metal easel on either the Metro North or LIRR train (and then, of course, on the subway to my tiny apartment in the West Village) are also now just funny stories.  Family life has brought me into the 21st Century and all that the internet has to offer.  Websites, social networking, blogs... you name, ...

Peggy Bacon, Bad News, 1919

JULY 13 THROUGH AUGUST 18, 2011 Peggy Bacon & Her Circle is on view at the Susan Teller Gallery from July 13 through August 18, 2011. There are paintings and works on paper from 1918 to 1952. Bacon attended the Art Students League from 1915 to 1920. It was there she met Alexander Brook; they were married from 1920 to 1940. Two major works by Brook are in the show, including his portrait of Rosalie Hook, wife of the artist Robert Gwathmey. Bacon studied with George Bellows, Kenneth Hayes Miller, and John Sloan.
