The Americans in Mexico show has been extened, by appointment or by chance, through May 23.
On view are paintings and works on paper by Peggy Bacon, Abe Blashko, Elizabeth Catlett, Theodore Haupt, Lawrence A. Jones, Charles Keller, Dorothy Browdy Kushner, Doris Rosenthal, and Judith Shahn.
Judith Shahn’s Honeymooners, 1950, records a time-honored tradition: a young couple get their picture taken at Lake Xochomilco, Mexico City, while, working in the same year, 1950, Theodore Haupt presents a modernist fiesta in Market Place (San Miguel Allende).
