Christie's post-war and contemporary art auction Tuesday evening totalled $232 million, including commissions. Of the 79 lots on offer, only five failed to sell.

Author Michael Crichton's collection, one of the season's star estate sales, has already reaped $93.3 million, the highest ever total for a post-war art collection, with more on offer Wednesday. The marquee lot was Jasper Johns' seminal painting "Flag" which sold for $26.84 million to Richard Rossello of Avery Galleries.

Andy Warhol's "Silver Liz," painted in 1963, at the birth of the Pop Art movement, went up to $18,338,500 against a $10-$15 million pre-sale estimate.
