Gray’s January 30th Auction features a brilliant array of Fine Art, Furniture, Decorations and Rugs. Highlights include major works of modern art, such as a magnificent watercolor by Joan Miro (1893-1983), Man, Moon, and Tree (Lot 45), and a large-scale original charcoal drawing by German Expressionist master Käthe Kollwitz (1867-1945) entitled Abschied (Farewell), which is a preliminary study for the etching Tod, Frau und Kind (Death Woman and Child), ca. 1910. Others notable works offered for sale include pieces by Hans Erni, Degas, Rodin, Chagall, Picasso, Boucher, Rembrandt, and William Calder Marshall.
