This Autumn Zurich offers intellectual entertainment at its best: From 15 October 2010 the spectacular Picasso exhibition at the “Kunsthaus Zürich“ will attract visitors from all over the world. To experience this outstanding art event in Zurich, The Dolder Grand (http://www.designhotels.com/the_dolder_grand), Design Hotels™ newest member in Switzerland, is the place to be! Located above the city and originally built as a “Curhaus” health spa in 1899, the hotel has been transformed by renowned architects Foster and Partners into a luxury city resort. The splendid interior design from United Designers is decorated with many classical and contemporary pieces of art selected by the owner Urs E. Schwarzenbach. From 15 October until 30 January, 2011 guests benefit from a 10 % discount on tickets for the Picasso exhibition. The Picasso Exhibition Excitement is growing for the upcoming art exhibition by the Spanish painter Pablo Picasso at the “Kunsthaus Zürich” starting 15 October 2010. It will showcase over 70 outstanding original pieces selected by the painter himself. The originals are loans from galleries and museums including the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) and Metropolitan Museum in New York, the Tate Modern in London and Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza in Madrid. This special exhibition can only be seen in Zurich. Guests of The Dolder Grand enjoy special treatment as they can book tickets directly at the hotel without queuing at the museum. After an overindulgence of culture, The Dolder’s 4,000 m² spa is the perfect escape. The Dolder Grand Spa The Spa at The Dolder Grand was developed using a concept from the American spa expert Silvia Sepielli. This exclusive spa is a combination of Japanese and European traditions and offers a wide range of wellness treatments such as bamboo shiatsu and therapeutic salt baths. The spa also provides beauty therapies, workout facilities and an organically shaped pool area with large windows which frame stunning vistas. Surrounded by breathtaking views of the lake Zurich and the Swiss Alps, The Dolder Grand spa took the title of “Smartest Escape” in the Tatler Spa Awards. This is especially true this autumn as the spa provides the perfect balance to relax the mind and body after an enriching day of cultural entertainment.
