A collection of original vintage travel posters will be among the many highlights on offer at The Chelsea Antiques Fair at Chelsea Old Town Hall on the famous King's Road, London, from 20-24 March 2019.
Belonging Barclay Samson from France, the posters include vibrant British and European posters from the 1920s to 1960s.
The Chelsea Antiques Fair returns after missing 2018 when the Old Town Hall was refurbished.
‘This has been the first time since 1950 that the fair has taken a break,’ explains organizer Caroline Penman, who took over the fair in the early 1980s. ‘Many regular collectors have been in touch and are looking forward to our return in the newly refurbished, gilded and polished Town Hall.’
The Fair will be expanding its appeal to the new generation of millennials who have been recently acclaimed as the next generation of collectors. ‘Today’s young people no longer want homogeneous bland furniture assembled from flatpacks, they are seeking their own individual style, combining traditional and modern design,’ explains exhibitor Mike Melody from Melody Antiques of Chester, showing for the first time at the fair and taking a large area to display 18thand 19thcentury town and country furniture and decorative accessories. Mike will be joined by other furniture specialists including Wayne Long Antiques and A & J. Antiques.
The Fair will feature and variety of art and antiques from 35 exhibitors. All exhibits will be scrutinized and vetted for quality and authenticity ensuring collectors can buy with confidence.
