Roland Auctions is located in Greenwich Village, NYC and holds monthly auctions.

As I write this, the Roland Auction team is staging the preview for our monthly auction on August 13.  As you know, we have two showrooms in  our 80 East 11th Street, NYC, headquarters. Both are worth taking a look at during the Preview on Thursday, August 11 and Friday, August 12 because the Lazy, Hazy, Crazy Summer Auction is loaded!

As usual, we're putting art up front and leading with Israeli abstractist Zvi Mairovich. The floral still life is characterized by strong contrasts between dark and light. Mairovich was a member of the New Horizons movement anad won the Dizenoff prize of 1942, 1951 and 1961.

We're also fortunate to be selling a Shephard Fairey silkscreen, complete with Andre the Giant iconography.

Then Charles Fazziano captures the "South Beach (Miami)" scene in sizzling 3D pop art. It's almost enough to make Leroy Neiman's "Cheetah" lithograph appear tame.  And that, in turn, brings out the passion in Australian Aboriginal painter Barbara Weir's depiction of a night sky.

We're offering two Marie Sarpy abstract nudes, both of which capture the modernist movement in line and color. If you prefer Modernism's cousin Art Deco, then the collection of Erte serigraphs and lithographs - including Zsa Zsa - are definitely worth considering.

Among the landscapes, the choices run from a "View of Venice" to a panorama of Niagara Falls.

I made a trip recently to see properties in New Orleans can came back with a collection of highly desirable traditional and modern paintings.

The posters demand a word. There's a vintage "A la Place Clichy," by Paul Destez and a "Cachou Lauane" showgirl poster by Leonetto Capiello.

There's more to the sale, of course, including a signed Tiffany table lamp with green glass shade.

Among the furniture, a quick overview reveals a 19th Century walnut farmhouse table and a 19th Century French desk signed Giroux. We're also selling a beautiful 19th Century Regency rosewood credenza too with a mirrored back, two glass doors and lion's paw feet.

The contemporary furniture can be described in two words: absolutely architectural. Paul Evans' chrome and brass skyscraper coffee table is genius. The Saporti console table, too. And Hans Wegner folding chair with leather seat should shake things up a bit.

There are items by Arne Jacobsen, Allen Copley and Georg Jensen. And - as if having taken its cue from the then nascent space program- a Sputnik style chandelier continues to float in stable orbit.

You can see the details on our website, http://rolandantiques.com. Better yet, stop by the gallery. Preview days are Thursday, August 11 and Friday, August 12.  The sale starts at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 13. You may bid live in the gallery or on the Internet at Live Auctioneers.com
