Attend the Art, Design and Antiques Market September 24-26

The Columbus Museum of Art introduces an extraordinary and distinctive event featuring traditional and mid-century antiques, contemporary art, and design. More than thirty national and local dealers will set up shop in the Museum and offer antique furniture, decorative arts, clothing, jewelry, and toys – to name just a few. Join us September 23 – 26, to explore the connections between exquisite antiques from the past, well-designed products for everyday use, and the art of creating wonderful living environments through a variety of events. Mark your calendar and reserve your tickets today!

Proceeds will support the CMA and the Museum’s new Center for Creativity, a hub that will engage visitors of all ages in experiences and encourage them to explore, imagine, and create.

 

Pre-Show Events

 

 

Art Escapes Antique Tours

Wednesday, September 22

9:30 am - 4:30 pm

 

Choose one of two tours: 

1.Columbus

Visit the spectacular German Village home of talented New York/Columbus interior designer Michael McKibben, lunch and tour of Rocky Fork Hunt Club and tour of Ron & Mary Beth Berggren’s home filled with antiques from five generations and contemporary crafts.

 

2.Lancaster

Join us for a tour of the stately Reese-Peters mansion (now the Decorative Arts Center) with personal comments by previous owner Caroline Rockwood, the historic Georgian mansion furnished in the fashion of the 1830s and a beautiful private home. Lunch at the casually elegant Shaw’s Restaurant & Inn.

 

Reservations are limited! Tour cost is $110 for non members, $100 for members and includes custom coach, lunch, admission and docent fees, and a ticket to the Art, Design & Antiques Market on either September 24, 25, or 26. Opening Night Patron Gala

Thursday, September 23

7:00 – 10:00 pm

Join us and be among the first to shop the booths and talk with the dealers, enjoy a delicious hors d’oeuvres reception, and bid at the live auction all presented in a gala atmosphere. Tickets are $150 per person.

Art, Design and Antiques Market will feature 30 national and local dealers offering the best of traditional American and European furnishings, oriental rugs, French and English country antiques, estate jewelry, vintage clothing, contemporary and folk art, silver and china, mid-century modern classics, vintage posters, toys and more. Explore the booths and find the perfect piece to complete your collection or discover the style that will make your home picture perfect.

Shop the Show with Amelia Jeffers

Hear about highlights of the show with an antiques expert from Garth Auctions, Inc. who is a national force in the world of American antiques and fine art. Amelia will lend her expertise as you stroll the booths to see what is rare, unique and hot in the market! FREE with admission.

 

Luncheon & Vintage Fashion Show

Noon - 2:30 pm

Savor a delightful sit-down luncheon featuring a menu of early fall favorites from local chefs. And then enjoy runway modeling of exquisite vintage fashions spanning the eras from 1920-1980, culled from fine shops and private collections in the Columbus area.

Tickets are $95 per person.

 

Design Blast!

Shop 4:00 - 6:00 pm & Party until 8:30 pm

Enjoy shopping, design tips, appetizers, DJ, speed decorating and cash bar! Get the inside scoop on the latest trends from design professional and global design forecaster Valerie Jacobs. Catch speed decorating with interior designer Chris King of Manifesto to make your place a design star.

Tickets are $25 per person and include a VIP pass to come back throughout the weekend.

Bring those items whose value or history you’ve always wondered about and talk to the professionals! Art and antique professionals will be on hand to help you determine the real value of an item – is it a sentimental family heirloom, a great yard sale bargain or that long-lost incredibly valuable treasure salvaged from your great grandmother’s attic?

Appraisal fees - $15 for 1 items or $25 for 2 items

 

Shop the Show with Jeff Jeffers

Celebrate American design classics featuring pre-1980 Ford models including Mustangs, Cobras, and more. Admire the power and beauty of these vintage cars lovingly restored and maintained by owner-enthusiasts who will be onsite to meet and talk about their special vehicles. FREE with admission to Art, Design & Antique Market.

 

John Frassanito Talk

Canzani Center located at CCAD
2:00 pm

Join noted industrial designer and animator John Frassanito as he discusses his amazing career with NASA and Dreamworks films. Frassanito, who integrated engineering, science and art to create a reality few could even imagine, will share some of his latest visualizations.

Tickets are $10 per person and include admission to the market.
