Tuesday sales at Weschler's Auctioneers and Appraisers have been a staple of Washington, D.C.'s auction world for over one-hundred and twenty years. Located in their 905 E Street, NW gallery, Weschler's weekly Metro Auctions offer 100s of moderately priced, mid-market estate lots ranging from antique to contemporary furniture and fine art, to jewelry and collectibles.
Now the city's premier auction house is adding an online auction feature to their Metro auction: Metro Online. In select Metro auctions, a portion of the lots will be offered simultaneously online using ArtFact, AuctionZip and Invaluable. Viewers and bidders will be able to browse and bid on these sales in real time from the comfort of their home or office.
The September 11th Metro Online sale will feature a large collection of 19th and 20th century delftware and blue & white Meissen pottery, Civil War photographs, antique duck decoys, Asian decorative art, bronze statuary, antique firearms, Inuit sculptures and prints, and vintage museum posters. For more information or to consign items to Weschler's Metro Online sales, please contact weekly@weschlers.com.
Preview for the Metro auctions take place Saturdays from 9am-11am and Mondays from 9am-5pm. A complete catalogue listing for this auction can be found at www.weschlers.com the Friday before the sale. Weschler's will also be exhibiting their September 14th Capital Collections Estate Auction on their second floor gallery September 8th-13th.
