Luba Zygarewicz, Touch Me, artist's hair, 66'' x 72'' x 2''

NEW YORK, NY – Chelsea’s Agora Gallery will feature the original work of Luba Zygarewicz in The Latin American Contemporary Fine Art Competition. The exhibition opens December 5 and runs through December 15, 2018 with an opening reception on Thursday, December 6 from 6-8 pm. Any art lover who enjoys thought-provoking artworks and meeting talented and interesting artists is encouraged to attend.

About the Artist

Often comprising media as ephemeral as tea, hair, or lint, the works by Chilean-Ukrainian artist Luba Zygarewicz incorporate such materials in order to explore the growth and expiration of time. While still making static, wall-specific works, the nature of time is the foundational subject-matter her work is meant to address.

Tagging my Days gives full expression to Zygarewicz’s representation of time as a form of dailiness. The pervasive use of tea stains, which mingle with ink, demonstrate how art can serve as a kind of net, ensnaring the often recalcitrant material of everyday experience.
