On Thursday, October 14, 2021, the Banksy Balloon Girl was sold again at Sothebys in London in auction during FRIEZE Week under the new title "Love is in the Bin." On the exciting evening, Sotheby's returned with a record-breaking Contemporary Art Evening Sale at the New Bond Street Auction with attendance. The centerpiece was the dramatic sale of Banksy's infamous work "Love is in the Bin," which broke all records with a hammer price of £18,582,000. And so the work, half-destroyed by Banksy, was now sold by its owner, entirely in accordance with the rules of speculation, for 16 million pounds plus a premium, a mere three years after the last purchase. The million from 2018 was well invested. This example shows perfectly that the art market is no longer about art, but about investment.

New editions and unique pieces by Mr. Brainwash arrived. GALERIE FRANK FLUEGEL represents the artist Mr. Brainwash since 2012 in German-speaking countries.

After the auction record in London for a Banksy painting at Sothebys in London 2019, street art is increasingly coming into the focus of collectors.

Born as Thierry Guetta in 1966 in Garges-lès-Gonesse near Paris, Mr. Brainwash has lived in Los Angeles since the age of 15. In 2008, the first exhibition "Life is Beautiful" took place in Los Angeles and quickly became a crowd puller with more than 50,000 visitors.
In 2009, Madonna commissioned Mr. Brainwash to design the album cover of "Celebration."
In 2010 came the breakthrough: Mr. Brainwash became famous through the multiple award-winning and Oscar-nominated documentary "Exit Through the Gift Shop", in which he accompanied his friend and street art legend Banksy at work. Through this, he also got into the street art scene and started creating art. From that moment on, Mr. Brainwash was a phenomenon, a superstar who conquered the art world at a record pace.
In February 2010, the second exhibition "Life Is Beautiful: Icons" opened in New York on 1,400 m2 and was sold out in a few days.
Numerous exhibitions followed in England, Germany, France and most recently in Seoul. A lengthy interview has just been published in Paris Match.

Using stencil graffiti as well as silkscreen prints and pop culture motifs analogous to Warhol, the artist has brought urban art from the street into the living room, merging both art movements. The surprising works mix garish colors in any combination with sometimes controversial content. The whole executed in mixed media with spray paint, painting and collage technique and enriched with ironic allusions, behind which often hides a political-social message.

GALERIE FRANK FLUEGEL with locations in Nuremberg and Kitzbühel is focused on high-quality originals of Pop Art, Street Art and Contemporary Art by Andy Warhol, Tom Wesselmann, Keith Haring, Mr. Brainwash, BAMBI, XOOOOX, Roy Lichtenstein, Julian Opie, Jeff Koons, Damien Hirst, Sean Scully, Robert Longo, Alec Monopoly, Tracey Emin, Peter Doig, Alex Katz or Mel Ramos.
Exhibitions are held in regular rotation in our centrally located stores. International fair participations complete the program.

Many of the offered works can be bought and taken away immediately, as they are in stock. Please note that due to high demand, some artists' prices are expected to rise, works may increase in price and old prices may lose their validity.
