New York - Musician, vocalist, record producer, and artist Herb Alpert is a man of many talents. On view at Heather James Fine Art, New York, from October 11 through November 1, Herb Alpert: A Visual Melody will present over a dozen abstract paintings, and a few small-scale bronze sculptures. The opening reception at the gallery, 42 East 75 Street, will be on October 11, 5:30–7:30 pm.
Much like his music, Alpert’s paintings and sculptures present free-flowing compositions encompassing a complex range of forms, heightened by lyrical curves and unexpected twists. His work has been exhibited in museums, galleries, and art fairs throughout the U.S. and Europe including the Pasadena Museum of California Art, Art Cologne, and Art Basel, as well as part of the permanent collections of the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles; the Tennessee State Museum, Nashville; and The Field Museum of Natural History, Chicago. New York public art installations have included Dante Park (2013) and Bryant Park (2005).
